CueID is designed to identify music in audio files selected by the user and help create tracklists and Apple Music playlists.
This Privacy Policy explains what information CueID processes, what is sent off your device, and how subscription-related data is handled.
CueID processes audio files that you choose to open in the app. The app uses those files to create short audio chunks, generate music recognition signatures, display scan progress, build a tracklist, and create exports when requested.
CueID does not upload your original audio files to servers operated by us.
CueID uses Apple ShazamKit to identify music. To perform recognition, CueID generates audio signatures from selected audio and sends those signatures through Apple’s ShazamKit service for matching.
Recognition results may include song title, artist, album information, artwork URL, and Apple Music links where available.
Your original audio files remain local to your Mac unless otherwise handled by Apple’s system services as part of the recognition request.
If you choose to add identified tracks to Apple Music, CueID will request access to Apple Music. With your permission, CueID may search the Apple Music catalog and create a playlist in your Apple Music library.
CueID uses this access only to provide the Apple Music playlist feature. CueID does not sell, share, or use Apple Music library access for advertising or tracking.
You can revoke Apple Music access in macOS System Settings.
CueID uses RevenueCat to manage subscriptions, purchases, entitlements, and purchase restoration.
RevenueCat may process purchase history, subscription status, product identifiers, transaction identifiers, anonymous app user identifiers, device information needed to operate the purchase system, and related technical information.
CueID does not provide RevenueCat with your name, email address, or other contact information unless a future version of the app explicitly asks for it.
RevenueCat’s privacy policy is available at: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy/
Payments are processed by Apple through the App Store. CueID does not receive your payment card details.
CueID may ask permission to send local notifications when a scan completes. Notification content may include the name of the scanned file and the number of tracks found.
These notifications are generated by the app on your device. CueID does not use notifications for advertising or marketing.
You can disable notifications in macOS System Settings.
When you export a tracklist, CueID writes the exported file to the location you choose. Exported files may include the scanned file name, scan date, duration, timestamps, artists, and track titles.
CueID does not upload exported tracklists to our servers.
CueID does not knowingly collect:
CueID does not use third-party advertising SDKs and does not sell personal data.
CueID does not use third-party advertising tracking.
RevenueCat provides subscription and purchase analytics related to app functionality and subscription management. CueID does not use RevenueCat data for third-party advertising.
Audio files, generated scan results, and exported tracklists are stored locally or in locations you choose. You can delete those files at any time.
Temporary audio chunks created during scanning are intended to be cleaned up by the app after scanning.
Subscription and purchase records are retained by Apple and RevenueCat as needed to provide purchases, restore access, prevent fraud, comply with legal obligations, and operate subscription services.
You can delete local files and exports directly from your Mac.
To delete or manage purchase-related data handled by RevenueCat, contact us at support@example.com. We may need information from you to identify the anonymous RevenueCat app user record.
You can also manage Apple Account and App Store purchase data through Apple: https://privacy.apple.com/
CueID is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
